Third Grade Teacher

Tell us about your family:
My husband, Devon, and I have been married 10 years. We have two kids. Cooper who is almost three and Hallie who is 8 months old. We have two cats - Minnie & Penny and a blue heeler named Tucker.

How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
This is my 7th year of teaching. 

What makes you passionate about education?
It is privilege to be called to a field that helps children grow and learn. I love helping students learn and find things that they love about school. Being with children all day and facilitate their growth and watching them change throughout the year is one of my greatest blessings. 

What is your must-have classroom item?
I have to have coffee - it is truly the best.

If you had to choose a different grade/subject to teach, what would it be?
I would teach SPED or reading intervention. Both are very different from each other but both are very important to me. 

What is something about you that might surprise people?
I was drum major in the band at my high school. 

What is one item on your bucket list?
Visiting Paris and seeing the Eiffel Tower.
