Kacey Kadlec - 9/24/25

It's Wildcat Wednesday! Every Wednesday, we will spotlight a member of the LR Wildcat family.
This week we are introducing you to Kacey Kadlec!
-----------------------------
Job Title:
High School Counselor
Tell us about your family:
I grew up in Bowling Green, Missouri and most of my family still lives in that area. I have one older sister who lives in Chicago so my parents live somewhat in the middle of us. I am super close with my family and still consider that area home.
How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
This will be my fifth year as a high school counselor.
What makes you passionate about education?
I would say the role I get to play in it. Even though I’m not teaching content, I get to support students along every step of the way. I love getting to connect with my students, be a part of their lives, and help them handle the many challenges life brings. I get so much joy out of my job by just getting to be a part of their stories!
What is your must-have classroom item?
For me personally, my weekly planner. I’m the type that has to write things down just to mark them off. For my students, I would say it’s either the mints or my sand tray. They are both big hits!
If you had to choose a different grade/subject to teach, what would it be?
I would probably choose math. I was originally a Mathematics major in college before I made a 180 switch to counseling.
What is something about you that might surprise people?
I know an abnormal amount of songs. Could be country, rap, soul, etc. and there’s a good chance I know every word.
What is one item on your bucket list?
To go to Norway and see the fjords there!
Kacey, thanks for being a part of the Wildcat family!
