Tell us about your family:
My family consists of my husband Phillip and my cat Lily. I have family from here including my siblings and parents (my brother played baseball for MSU see photo). My husband and his family are from South Africa (see safari photo with rhino!)
How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
I have worked in education for 5 years and this is my fourth year as a science teacher.
What makes you passionate about education?
I love to learn and I love school. I am a people person who has always enjoyed the challenge of working to take care of community. Education is never stagnant and provides me a place where I need to continuously grow and learn in order to succeed. I love being a teacher!
What is your must-have classroom item?
My must have items are coffee and colorful pens.
If you had to choose a different grade/subject to teach, what would it be?
If I taught anything else it would be vocal or instrumental music.
What is something about you that might surprise people?
Something that might surprise people is that I worked at a recording studio in Nashville as an assistant audio engineer before deciding to become a teacher.
What is one item on your bucket list?
One item on my bucket list is to be multilingual. I am only fluent in English but would like to be fluent in multiple languages.
