It's Wildcat Wednesday! Every Wednesday, we will spotlight a member of the LR Wildcat family.
This week we are introducing you to Mark Talbert!
Weight Room Instructor / Head Football & Track Coach
Tell us about your family:
I've been married to my wife Jenny for 15 years. She is the head girls basketball coach at Fair Grove. We have three boys: Ryan(11), Grant(10), Austin(6).
How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
What makes you passionate about education?
I am passionate about building positive relationships with our students. I have a love for the game of football and seeing high school students improve every day in the weight room. I have one of the most rewarding jobs in the district because results are very obvious.
What is your must-have classroom item?
We need a rack with weights on it, the rest takes care of itself.
If you had to choose a different grade/subject to teach, what would it be?
I enjoyed teaching social studies at one point in my education career. I've always enjoyed learning about history and teaching it was a way for me to further my learning. I would say that it is not as hard as Coach Ledl leads on.
What is something about you that might surprise people?
Not sure, perhaps an irrational fear of bees, yellow jackets, or wasps.
What is one item on your bucket list?
Winning a State Championship in football.
Thanks for being a part of the Wildcat family, Mark!
