My husband, Dale, and I have one son, Declan. We have one dog, Kiera, and one cat. We love to spend time together outdoors, camping, canoeing, and riding bikes.
How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
This is my eighteenth year in education.
How long have you worked for LR?
This is my twelfth year working for Logan-Rogersville.
Why did you choose to work for LR?
It was a choice to come home and to work with a community I love.
What is your favorite thing about working for LR?
My LRMS family. We are a very close group. My administrators and co-workers are amazing!! These fabulous people and the students we work with every day are what make coming to work such a delight!
If you had to choose a different grade/subject to teach, what would it be?
I love where I am and what I am doing!
How did you know you wanted to be a teacher?
I have been grading worksheets since I was a five. When you are the granddaughter of a teacher, daughter of a teacher, sister of a teacher, sister-in-law of a teacher, niece of a teacher, cousin of a teacher, what other choice is there? Teaching is in my DNA.
What is something about you that might surprise people?
My first teaching job was in Bangkok, Thailand.
What is your favorite quote?
"Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding." Proverbs 4:7
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I would love to take the time to learn to play the guitar.
What do you like to do when you're not at school?
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, watching movies, and being outdoors.
