It's Wildcat Wednesday! Every Wednesday, we will spotlight a member of the LR Wildcat family.
This week we are introducing you to Kathy Eady!
-----------------------------
Job Title:
LR Elementary Library Media Specialist
Tell us about your family:
My husband and I met in high school at Logan-Rogersville and became high school sweethearts. We have been married for over 33 years. Our oldest daughter is Katelyn Eady. She is working as a Correctional Officer in Fordland and throughout Missouri. Our other daughter is Madilyn Lamb. She and Zach have been married for 1 1/2 years. She is currently going to school to become an ultrasound technician along with working at Imaging Miracles, and her husband works for F & H Food Equipment in Springfield. Our son, Brayden Eady, is currently attending Missouri S & T to become a Civil Engineer.
How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?I have been an educator throughout my entire career for the Logan-Rogersville School District. This is my 27th year working for LR.
What makes you passionate about education?
I am passionate about education because it brings a smile to my face seeing the students light up when they learn new things and are excited about learning. I also love it when past students come to see me and tell me about their lives, jobs, and families. It's also nice to hear them say how much they enjoyed my class. Helping a child learn and grown into a successful adult is music to my ears.
What is your must-have classroom item?
BOOKS!
If you had to choose a different grade/subject to teach, what would it be?
Teaching music to elementary students would be very rewarding to me.
What is something about you that might surprise people?
Something that might surprise people about me is that I loved being a dental assistant for over 4 years during my undergraduate work. My other career path would have been a dental hygienist, but my life-long desire to be a teacher took precedence.
What is one item on your bucket list?
I would love to go to Hawaii with my husband someday.
Thanks for being a part of the Wildcat family, Kathy!
