This week we are introducing you to Sara Boyts!
Tell us about your family (human and/or fur family):
I have 2 amazing kids, Gracie is a 4th grader and Ryan is in 1st grade. I have a wonderful supportive boyfriend and we also have a sweet dog, Hermann.
How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
How long have you worked for LR?
LR is the only district I have worked for. This is my 13th year.
Why did you choose to work for LR?
I grew up in Ozark and love this area. I love the community spirit and small town atmosphere.
What is your favorite thing about working for LR?
My co-workers are fabulous and I love working with each and every one of them. They inspire me to grow professionally and make me want to be a better teacher. I also adore my sweet kindergarteners and their supportive parents.
How did you know you wanted to be a teacher?
My mother was a teacher and it seemed like a natural fit for me as well.
What stereotype about teachers is true?
I am very organized!
What is something about you that might surprise people?
I'm a big sci-fi fan and love Star Wars.
What is your favorite quote?
”Ships don't sink because of the water around them, they sink because of the water that gets in. Don't let what's happening around you weigh you down.”
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
Wedding planner, work at a book shop, own a winery
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I wish I was better at gardening
What do you like to do when you're not at school?
Spend time with family (I'm getting a new niece this spring), traveling, going out to eat, watching movies, and date nights with my boyfriend!
