It's Wildcat Wednesday! Every Wednesday, we will spotlight a member of the LR Wildcat family.
This week we are introducing you to Lorin Carrier!
2nd Grade Teacher
Tell us about your family:
I am married to Colton Carrier he is a diesel mechanic and we have two fur babies, Eddie and Stella-Mae! As well as several different farm animals!
How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
I have only been a certified teacher since January! But I have been a substitute teacher for 3 years.
What makes you passionate about education?
I love seeing a student’s reaction when they learn something new or are inspired by something I am teaching. I want to inspire kids to learn new things and to find something they are passionate about and work hard at it. It brings me so much joy when a student perseveres through something that was tough for them to learn or understand and then they finally get it!
What is your must-have classroom item?
My three tier rolling cart. I am always moving around my room so it is nice to be able to drag that around with me so that I always have what I need wherever I am. Also coke zero, I wouldn't function without some soda!
If you had to choose a different grade/subject to teach, what would it be?
What is something about you that might surprise people?
I am a huge animal lover. I have chickens, ducks, quail, pigs, and a cow but I want every farm animal you can imagine and I want them all just living in harmony together in my back yard!
What is one item on your bucket list?
Go to the Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo in Cheyenne Wyoming
Thank you for being a part of the Wildcat family, Lorin!
