It's Wildcat Wednesday! Every Wednesday, we will spotlight a member of the LR Wildcat family.
This week we are introducing you to Shelley Eaton!
-----------------------------
Job Title:
Third Grade Teacher
Tell us about your family:
My husband, Michael, and I met in college and have been married for 38 years. We have 3 children, 2 are married and a total of 7 grandchildren (my favorite people). We have 1 spoiled dog, Ellie, she's a Chug (she prefers, Pughuahua).
How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
I have been a teacher for 12 years, 9 in third grade and 3 in fourth grade.
What makes you passionate about education?
Teaching is an incredibly challenging and rewarding career. I get to make a positive difference in my students’ lives. It is exciting and gratifying to watch them grow academically, emotionally and socially. Third grade is my sweet spot because students are curious, creative, humorous and so much fun to connect with. I love being a teacher.
What is your must-have classroom item?
Ambient lighting, it is versatile and creates a more relaxing environment.
If you had to choose a different grade/subject to teach, what would it be?
I enjoy learning about and working with plants, so probably something to do with horticulture.
What is something about you that might surprise people?
I was a Dental Hygienist for 20 years before going into education.
What is one item on your bucket list?
A Central European river cruise on the Rhine.

Shelley, thanks for being a part of the Wildcat family!
