It's Wildcat Wednesday! Every Wednesday, we will spotlight a member of the LR Wildcat family.
This week we are introducing you to Kelly Harman!
-----------------------------
Job Title:
High School Dual Credit Mathematics & PLTW Engineering
Tell us about your family:
My husband and I have four adult children—three sons and one daughter—and three wonderful grandchildren: two boys and one girl, with another granddaughter arriving in January! We also share our home with one big, lazy Saint Bernard who keeps us laughing.
How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
I taught for 15 years at Missouri State University, and this is now my ninth year at LR
What makes you passionate about education?
I’m passionate about education because it gives me the chance to build real connections with students and help them see their own potential. I love being part of those “aha” moments and knowing that, in some small way, I’m making a difference in their lives and future opportunities.
What is your must-have classroom item?
White boards & Markers!
If you had to choose a different grade/subject to teach, what would it be?
I feel pretty lucky to already be teaching exactly what I love!
What is something about you that might surprise people?
I’m a 7th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and a multi-time World Champion.
What is one item on your bucket list?
Wow, just one is hard to narrow down! Riding my bike up the Road to the Sun and traveling to New Zealand are both high on my list.

Thanks for being a part of the Wildcat family, Kelly!
