How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
This is my 15th year, Spent 1 year at Sparta, 9 Years at Ozark, and this is my 6th Year at LR

How long have you worked for LR?
6 Years in Both Social Studies and as Head Baseball Coach

Why did you choose to work for LR?
First of all, I am a 1996 Graduate of LR and loved my time as student and athlete at LR. LR gave me opportunity to "come home" and become both a teacher and Head Baseball Coach at my alma mater which is very meaningful because of my past here at LR.

What is your favorite thing about working for LR?
Absolutely love my co-workers and my students. LR is a one of a kind place to work. When I was here, I had many teachers who had a major impact on me. I look back at my time here with those people very fondly and wanted to be a part of that. I really do enjoy coming to work every single day and enjoy the interactions with our students, parents, and our community.

How did you know you wanted to be a teacher?
I didn't. I think I changed my major three times in college. From Biology, to Physical Therapy, and then to Education. In fact, I tell students all the time the last thing I wanted to do when I was sitting in their position was to teach. I coached one summer here at LR as a college student, and decided that I absolutely loved it. I changed my major that fall. Working with students and players became a passion. I think the profession chose me both in teaching and in coaching. And I am very thankful that it did.

What's the greatest misconception about teachers?
Students think that we never leave the school! You would be amazed at how many students see me at Wal-Mart and then ask what I’m doing there.

What is something about you that might surprise people?
I love to landscape. I am probably obsessive compulsive with it. I love to be outside working. I love to work at my house, and on our baseball field (As my baseball players would tell you). Most nights in the spring you will see the lights on at the field and me usually doing something out at the field.

What is your favorite quote?
My favorite quote-Alabama's Bear Bryant said, "There are no office hours for champions." I always felt like that summed up doing whatever it takes, for however long it takes, as intensely as you can to get the job done.

What's the weirdest job you've ever had?
I grilled at W.F Cody's for two years in high school. One of LR community members owned it at the time and taught several of us football and baseball players how to grill. That has served me well in my adult life.

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
I am fascinated with the scouting and drafting process of professional sports. Learning what it took to perform those kinds of tasks would be very interesting to me. So if the St. Louis Cardinals or Kansas City Chiefs ever called, I'm ready to fix both franchises. Im still waiting on that call.

What do you like to do when you're not at school?
When Im not at school teaching or at the field coaching, you can find the Ledl clan hitting Table Rock Lake. We love to take family, friends, and some of our coworkers down every chance we get. We have a boat on the lake and when we get a chance to go-we go! Its our absolute favorite place to spend time as a family and my kids absolutely love it.
