It's Wildcat Wednesday! Every Wednesday, we will spotlight a member of the LR Wildcat family.
This week we are introducing you to Kelsey Emerson!
English Teacher & Student Council Sponsor
Tell us about your family (human and/or fur family):
I'm not married and I don't currently have any pets (unless someone wants to buy me a dog), but I come from cool, loving parents. I have another family in LR, which is a blessing in its own.
How long have you been a teacher/worked in education?
How long have you worked for LR?
What is your favorite thing about working for LR?
My colleagues. Hands down. They make coming to work so much fun and they're always there to listen and help.
What's the greatest misconception about teachers?
That we get a paid summer off. As we're headed into summer break, don't even give me that "it must be nice" speech.
What is something about you that might surprise people?
I teach a yoga class at Genesis Health Clubs. Come see me on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Saturdays.
What is your favorite quote?
“That is part of the beauty of all literature. You discover that your longings are universal longings, that you're not lonely and isolated from anyone. You belong.”-F. Scott Fitzgerald
What's the weirdest job you've ever had?
I worked in a public library for 7 years. You might not find this weird, but trust me...it is.
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
I always wanted to be a book editor!
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
Thanks for being a Wildcat, Kelsey!
