the Counselor:
My name is Hadley Pyle. This is my 11th year in education and my 4th year working at the Upper Elementary. Previously, I was a teacher and counselor in the Springfield Public Schools District and at Ozarks Technical Community College.

Guidance
Curriculum:
The counselor provides 30 minute classroom guidance lessons to students
on a weekly basis. Lessons include topics related to educational and
vocational development, knowledge of self and others, and career
planning and exploration.
Responsive
Services:
The counselor is available to meet with students individually or in a
small group setting. Students may refer themselves or they may be
referred by a parent or teacher.
Individual Planning: The counselor helps students meet personal and educational goals. One way the counselor assists in this area is by administering tests that measure cognitive ability to students referred for gifted or special education services. The counselor is also available to interpret cognitive and achievement testing results.

System Support:
The counselor manages the counseling program and enhances it through
public relations, staff support, coordination of special activities and
programs, and by participating in professional development.
CHARACTER
CORNER
Logan-Rogersville Upper Elementary has become a Character Ed partner. Character Ed is a Chamber-led, community wide character education initiative working to create a "culture of character" in the Springfield area through the united efforts of business, schools, civic organizations, the faith community and the media. A different Character Word will be featured each month.
