One of the components of Parents as Teachers is group meetings. Group meeting are designed to bring parents together in a central location to meet other parents, hear experts speak on parenting topics, or share interesting activities with their child(ren). Group meetings provide a chance for parents to meet other parents of young children.
We will update the calendar of events for the Spring of 2009 when those dates become available to us. Until then continue to check for updates. |
|
For updates and information on these or for further information about Parents As Teachers you can contact Cindy Gorski or Darby Dameron at 885-1215 or cgorski@logrog.net or ddameron@logrog.net. |

A Day in K April 2009 “A Day in K” is an opportunity for children going into kindergarten in the fall of 2009 to visit a kindergarten classroom in anticipation of the coming year. There will be fun activities to participate in so your child will leave with wonderful memories of the day in anticipation of the year to come. Dates and times to be announced
A Series of Story Times* Bring your little one(s) to enjoy a story or two and a literature related craft project. Exposure to the world of reading and literature can begin before birth and during the preschool years many children are becoming ’emergent readers and writers’. Story Time is great for building these emerging literacy skills, such as listening and rhyming, letter sounds, sequencing and predicting. Story Time also enhances attachment because it’s just fun! We will have two story time sessions, one in April and one in May. Come to one or both.
When: Friday, April 10, Friday April 24, and Friday May 8 Where: To be announced Time: 10:00-11:00
*In case of inclement weather, group meeting will be cancelled. |
