LOGAN-ROGERSVILLE R-VIII PHYSCIAL EDUCATION CURRICULUM

9-12

COURSE RATIONALE

Physical Education promotes in students the adoption of a physically active lifestyle that persists throughout adulthood.  A healthy, physically active adolescent is more likely to perform and learn at a greater level.  He or she will be more motivated to learn, more mentally alert to acquire knowledge and more likely to succeed.

If opportunities for healthy activity are provided, and healthy behaviors are learned, graduates from Logan-Rogersville High School are more likely to find greater success and superior achievement performance in their lives which will, in turn, provide them with the tools needed for a higher quality of life.

Each student will be provided opportunities for optimum physical, mental, social and emotional development as they participate in the physical education and activity programs.
