LOGAN-ROGERSVILLE R-VIII MATHEMATICS CURRICULUM
ALGEBRA I
COURSE RATIONALE
Algebra I teaches skills that help students develop intellectual, social, and emotional well-being and allows students to analyze and solve everyday problems. Algebra I will prepare students for their future educational requirements in math and science. As productive members of society, students will have to be able to think creatively and logically. Algebra I will help students develop these skills as they learn to communicate their thoughts to others.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The objectives and activities of this course are to gain skills in basic fundamentals of algebra including linear equations, systems of equations, quadratic equations, rational algebraic expressions, properties, operations with integers, inequalities, polynomials, factoring, functions and graphs. These skills will also be used on practical applications.
