Action Items

 

The Board approved the consent agenda (June 18th Board Meeting Minutes, monthly transfers, and bills). 

 

The Board heard from Gene Tomlinson (R), Greene County Sheriff Candidate. 

 

The Board heard a construction update from Ryan Faust of Jack Ball & Associates, Architects. 

 

The Board heard the following Program Evaluations:

ê           Summer School – Mrs. Jane Entrekin

ê           Transportation – Dr. Gary Hogue, Mr. Dale Smith

ê           Food Services – Dr. Gary Hogue, Mrs. Vickie Cantrell

ê           Library/Media Services – District Librarians

 

The Board approved release of pledged securities. 

 

The Board accepted the bid from Saco Petroleum for fuel/diesel for the 2008-2009 school year.

 

The Board accepted the bid from Purcell Tire Town for bus tires for the 2008-2009 school year.

 

The Board accepted the bid from Sara Lee Bakery Group for bread products for the 2008-2009 school year.

 

The Board accepted the bid from Hiland Dairy Foods for milk products for the 2008-2009 school year.

 

The Board set the student tuition rate for the 2008-2009 school year at $5,902.47.    

 

The Board approved 2008-2009 meal prices as follows:

The Board approved participation in the National School Lunch Program/School Breakfast Program (free and reduced-price meals) for the 2008-2009 school year. 

 

The Board approved revisions to the Primary and Upper Elementary Student Handbook. 

 

The Board approved 2008-2009 Support Staff handbooks as follows:

ê           Clerical

ê           Custodial/Maintenance

ê           Food Services

ê           Health Services

ê           Paraprofessionals

 

The Board approved the revised Career Ladder Handbook. 

 

The Board approved updates to MSBA Policies IBGG, JED-AP1, and JED-AP2. 

 

The Board set the August Board of Education meeting for Thursday, August 21, 2008 (due to conflict with the area COC meeting). 

 

The Board tabled action to change the September Board Meeting date.
