STUDENT CHARGE LIMITS:
Students at each grade level will be allowed to charge
lunch as follows:
Kindergarten
through 1st grade – 5 lunch charges
Upper
grades 2-5 – 5 lunch charges
Middle
school grades 6-8 – 2 lunch charges
High
school grades 9-12 – NO lunch charges regardless
of meal status.
NOTE: Breakfast and ala carte items (ex. Extra milk
with meals), will not be allowed as chargeable items
at any grade level or by students of any meal status,
if there is a negative balance.
STUDENT ALTERNATIVE MEALS:
When the charge limit has been met and students do not
have the funds to pay for the next lunch, an alternative
meal will be offered. The alternative meal will be a
peanut butter and jelly sandwich or a cheese sandwich
and one carton of white milk. (A Wildcat meal)
LOW
BALANCE & NEGATIVE BALANCE
COMMUNICATION:
Twice
a month the cashier and/or office personnel, (K-5),
will send low/negative meal balance letters home via
teachers. At all other grades the cashier will tell the
student (verbally) when student accounts reach a “1
lunch to go” account limit.
The
cashier and/or office personnel will phone each household
if a student receives 5 continuous days of
the alternative lunch. Once the student has been given
10 continuous days of the alternative lunch, the lead
cashier will notify the Food Service Director & the
building Principal.
